IM MATIJEVIĆ DOO Novi Sad, with the entry of the obligation to apply the HACCP system in the food processing industry into force, had an already applicable and regulated management system for food safety and workplace hygiene, as the first list of priorities for success in the extremely demanding food market.
HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) is a food safety system based on the analysis and control of potential biological, ie microbiological, chemical and physical hazards to which raw materials are exposed, as well as possible hazards during handling, production, distribution and consumption of the final product.
This food safety system includes a number of procedures in controlling the food production process and identifying critical points in the process, all with the ultimate goal that the consumer uses food in a condition and in a way that is safe for his health.
HACCP system is adapted to all types of food products . and all types of food production and handling. The HACCP system identifies and controls health hazards that pose a particularly high risk to food safety. Its main characteristics are that it is scientifically based, acts preventively, uses risk assessment as a tool, is systematized, documented and verified. The advantages of this system are obvious for both consumers and our company.
For consumers, this means that the HACCP system ensures the supply of healthy food products, thereby reducing the incidence of foodborne illness, and ensuring that the company enjoys greater trust from government regulators, end consumers and other stakeholders.
IM MATIJEVIĆ DOO Novi Sad, as a company aware of the importance of responsible behavior towards the environment, is dedicated to continuous improvement and prevention of the negative impact of its business activities on the natural environment. The responsible behavior of this company towards the environment is implemented by applying the principles of sustainable development, as well as by applying domestic and international standards and regulations for the management of the environmental protection system at all stages of the production of basic foodstuffs.
Domestic business, through sustainable environmental quality management, means modernization of technological processes and equipment, reduction of emissions of pollutants in air, water and soil, increase of energy efficiency and proper waste management. The quality of the environment is controlled by regular monitoring of the environmental state. The company pays great attention to wastewater treatment, and all wastewater from the production process, sanitary and atmospheric water is directed to the wastewater pre-treatment plant, where it is treated to a satisfactory quality according to legislation, before being released into the city sewer network.
The wastewater treatment plant works on the mechanical-chemical principle and significantly reduces many parameters of pollution present in the wastewater, especially the organic load expressed as the concentration of biological consumption of oxygen, fats and suspended solids. The obtained quality of treated wastewater before discharge into the city sewerage network fully meets the criteria of the Decision on sanitary-technical conditions for discharge of wastewater into the public sewerage.
Waste management in the company is regulated by internal acts in accordance with existing legislation and contracts with authorized operators, which improve the sustainable management system of all types of waste generated in work processes.
The company’s goal is to provide a sustainable, healthy and safe work environment and minimize all potential risks faced by employees. The nature of business requires a high degree of safety and health at work, which is one of the priorities and prerequisites for successful business.

The Matijevic family and many other benefactors helped to finally start the construction of the temple. On that occasion, the owner of the company “Matijević”, Petar Matijević, addressed the audience, to whom the Bishop of Bačka Irinej presented the Order of Saint Sava for financial support for the construction of the temple.
“In the history of the Serbian people, endowment and fundraising are known, and in the last five or six years, a common goal like this construction of a temple has been easier to achieve, because the government, capital and the church work together. The young hawks of the ruling nomenclature have a sense of new times and I think we have a bright future with them. I wanted to help the church and my people, and let that be the foundation of my survival, “said Matijevic and pointed out that he hoped that his children and eight grandchildren would continue on the same path of charity in the future.
